Hoboken crime and fire action: July 4, 2011

Various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls for July 4, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 4:05pm: Washington St. Burglary
A Hoboken resident living on Washington St. near 10th Street phoned HPD to say that he came home to find his apartment had been burglarized.
  • 2:05pm: Fall from cliff!
Hoboken EMS received a call that a person had fallen from Jersey City Heights down the cliff/hill. Upon arrival, they said that Jersey City was handling, and they were administering CPR to the victim. It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Hope this person wasn’t planking!
  • Hoboken Sinkhole Alert
Hoboken411 will be in and out all day today, but wanted to share this bit of information just in case. Resident Yoni spotted what is possibly a “pending sinkhole” on Washington Street between 11th & 12th. The sagging impression in the road definitely happened recently, and could be very bad timing if it happens to collapse the road. Keep an eye on it!
