Volunteers Needed

FYI, they seem to be very short-handed for this year’s Spring Arts and Music Festival. If you’re interested, continue reading what Geri Fallo has to say.

Volunteers are needed to help with the setup of the Hoboken Arts & Music festival on Sunday May 1st 6th. We need help from 7:30am to 11:00am meeting and greeting the vendors, helping them find their space locations and directing traffic.

Everyone gets a Festival Staff T-Shirt and donuts and coffee will be served at 7am. You will need a cell phone.

We are really short of staff this year so if you can we would be most grateful or if you know of anyone that you think might be interested, please send them this notice
Thanks. Your consideration is very much appreciated

For any 20somethings, professionals, or others interested in volunteerism, the Hoboken Civic Organization is a newly launched group that aims to bring the younger, changing demographic of Hoboken into the political mainstream through community participation, issues campaigns, and fun networking events in cool spots around town! We want to work for cleaner air in Hoboken, better public transit, and nicer streets.

Yea, this sounds legit, President “AL” can’t even tell us your last name?

My guess is this is another Ramos/ Campos group trying to win over the newcommers.

Look at that myspace page…

I love Geri Fallo but…

Why should anyone volunteer? The city gets paid, the employees get overtime and the vendors make a boatload.

If I’m going to volunteer it will be for political candidates like Zimmer, Mason,or Cunningham who want to clean up this city. Or Humanity based causes that will improve this town. Not over run it with out of towners that leave a mess behind.

Volunteer turn out might be low because they aren’t selling the idea. Perhaps they should advertise something like:

“Strong manly volunteers urgently needed to assist female bartenders in setting up this year’s Hoboken Spring Arts and Music Festival!”

As a show of gratitude, we’re handing free t-shirts. If it rains, all the better 😉
