Crimes, Incidents, Fire Calls & Vehicular mishaps

  • 1:45pm: Get a life!
A man called Hoboken Police, saying he was “following a group of people walking south on River Street towards the PATH – carrying open containers of beer.” HPD is looking to see if they can find this group. WTF is wrong with people? Use your energy for more productive things! As long as they weren’t breaking stuff or stealing – leave them be! Mind your own business!
  • 1:15pm: Sparks Flying
Reports of a power line that just came down near 8th & Adams – residents are saying it’s arcing and sparking.
  • 12:35pm: Car stolen right from car wash!
A person just stole a black 2010 Range Rover “Sports Edition” from the Hoboken Car Wash on Observer Highway. As the car was being dried, he just jumped in and drove off! HPD on the case now.

.
More to come later…

Unbelievable the guy has nothing better to do but report open containers. Interestingly, HPD swung through Elysian Park and stopped at back by a small kid’s party/ gathering a while ago. Hope the folks don’t have open containers…the way things are these days the next thing you know the government takes your kids away!

Broken Windows theory of law enforcement. Yeah, they may have been harmless. Or they may have been the kind of douchebags who throw their garbage on the ground, write their tags inside my parking garage and on the playground equipment, let their dog shit all over without cleaning it up, and leave piles of empties outside my building every weekend. There’s some things you’re not allowed to do in a civilized society. Walk around drinking is one of them, not because any particular person with a beer is a problem, but because the kind of person who walks around drinking in the middle of the day frequently correlates with being a douchebag in other aspects of their conduct. Public drunks have been a nuisance since the Old Testament. Get over it – not everybody is well-behaved.[quote comment=”207852″]Unbelievable the guy has nothing better to do but report open containers.
