Memorial Day Tribute in Harsimus Park, Jersey City
This afternoon at 1pm, the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Memorial Park, located at 435 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, 07302 will host the 3rd Annual “Honoring Our HEROES’ Memorial Day Tribute, a military and musical tribute to our thousands of fallen soldiers and comrades.
“Special guest speakers include Senator Brian Stack, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy, the American Legion Post 99 Honor Guard with Rifle Salute, the Am-Vets, Jersey City Police Dept., Jersey City Fire & Rescue, the Lincoln Association & the George Washington Commemorative Society. Hudson View Entertainment’s “We Are The World Ensemble” & friends will perform. (We are the World Ensemble has performed at the White House Christmas tree Lighting for the past two years.). The Ceremony begins at 1 pm, is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to participate with singing and placing blessed flags on the soldiers graves. Refreshments will be served, and a walking historical tour of the grounds will be available after the ceremony.
