Josh Weston, former CEO of ADP, to discuss leadership at Stevens lecture: 4/12
Weston’s talk is part of Stevens’ Heath Leadership Seminar Series
HOBOKEN , N.J. — Josh Weston, former CEO of Automatic Data Processing (ADP), will share his secrets on leadership in an April 12 lecture at Stevens Institute of Technology. The event, “ What are the Keys to Leading a Multi-Billion-Dollar Enterprise? The ‘Soft Stuff’ Matters!” is part of the Heath Leadership Seminar Series and will be held in The Babbio Center, room 122, beginning with a reception at 6:15 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Weston led ADP, the largest payroll and tax filing processor in the world, through 164 consecutive quarters of double-digit growth. He has also served on many corporate boards. Based on this experience, Weston will offer 12 key ideas for leading organizations, all of which have to do with making the most of your people and leading with integrity. Time will also be permitted for questions on corporate ethics, governance and CEO compensation.
Weston joined ADP in 1970, served as CEO form 1982 to 1996, and retired as Chairman in 1998. The company had 164 consecutive quarters of double-digit EPS growth. ADP currently is one of only six US companies with a triple-A credit rating. Weston’s current corporate boards include Gentiva Health Services and J.Crew. His active pro bono boards include Committee for Economic Development (CED), Business Executives for National Security (BENS), Atlantic Health System (three hospitals), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Liberty Science Center (N.J.), N.J. Performing Art s Center, United Nations Association, WNET/Channel 13 (public TV), and Yeshiva University.
Weston’s past affiliations include National Commission to Restructure the IRS, NJ Business Partnership, NJ Quality Education Commission, Outward Bound, Tri-State United Way , and the President’s Task Force to Improve Health Care Delivery for Veterans.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from City College of NY, a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of New Zealand , and five honorary doctorate degrees. Weston is 78 years old, married with four children. He served in the US Navy from 1952-53. He and his wife, Judy, reside in Montclair , N.J.
