Hoboken crime and fire action: May 21st & May 22nd 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Saturday night, May 21st into Sunday morning, May 22nd. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

Crimes, Incidents, Fire Calls & Vehicular mishaps

• 3:40am: Car alarm – broken window
  HPD en route to 9th & Madison (near the ShopRite) – a car alarm is going off, with a side of “broken window.” Well, that’s a lovely Sunday morning wake up surprise for one unsuspecting vehicular operator now, isn’t it?
• 3:25am: Nauseating line at McDonald’s
  A huge line of hungry drunks at McDonald’s in Hoboken – Odds are that at least 15% of the products sold find their way back into the “environment” at some point in the very near future.



• 3:20am: Inappropriate Exposure!
  Reports of a Hispanic male wearing a white shirt – who was exposing himself near the intersection of 2nd & Washington Street. He apparently fled westbound on 2nd… HPD looking for this guy now. Ugh.
• 3:03am: Handgun brandished
  A Hoboken resident phoned police saying there was a man on Hudson Street between 4th & 5th streets “with a handgun.” No word on what is happening other than that.
• 2:41am: Passed Out
  Hoboken EMS en route to the area of 10th & Park – a private apartment building where a man is reported to be passed out on the 2nd floor. Hopefully it’s his house, and not someone else’s!
• 2:30am: Post Office fight #2
  Another round of fist-a-cuffs at the downtown Post Office – I suppose since it’s near Lana Lounge – so that should be mentioned…
• 2:27am: Altercation
  More inebriated patrons leaving their bars getting into altercations with one another at 2nd & Washington. Drinking booze is only “happy” for about seven minutes between your third and fourth drink. After that, it’s all down hill IMO.
• 2:20am: Street fight
  Another useless fracas between two meaningless tool-bags near the downtown post office. It’s too bad that HPD has to deal with bone-heads bashing themselves. Can’t Darwin be called in for an assist?
