Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 5/17/2011

Hoboken crime and fire action: May 17, 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Tuesday, May 17, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 2:00am (5/18/2011): Cheap Beer Fight
The Green Rock Bar near the PATH is known for their very cheap draft beer. Along with that, are the fights that break out on a weekly basis. Like this morning.
  • 12:10am (5/18/2011): Tequila Tool
Reports of a “disorderly person” at East LA Bar. Can’t have anything to do with large quantities of tequila, right?
  • 11:59pm: Injured Female
A woman “fell” on the sidewalk near 13th & Garden Streets – and is “injured.” No details on the age or condition of the woman, or the cause of the fall. EMS en route. My experience says it can be one of three things: Drunk broad (her fault), Elderly woman (God’s fault), or shoddy sidewalk conditions (irresponsible property owner’s fault).
  • 10:50pm: Unhappy Hour
A man returning from pounding drinks WAY too much in the city – is now passed out near 3rd & River inside a NYC Taxi Cab. What a maroon!
  • 9:50pm: Aquatic Action – Man in distress on Hudson River
Right now – there’s a man “clinging to a pylon” on the Hudson River near Chelsea Piers across from Hoboken. The 120 foot Affinity Yacht Charter is on the emergency channel reaching out to Hoboken Marine and NYPD Harbor Patrol. They have a spotlight on the man at the moment – but cannot get close enough to help.

More updates to come…
