PATH is unstable lately

First one I thought, ok, it happens.. but this is the second time within a week.

Why don’t they build a pedestrian bridge to NYC from Hoboken? We’d all be in better shape as a result!

From NJ.com again. Anyone involved with either incident?

Another PATH train derails in Hudson

A PATH train carrying about 200 passengers derailed tonight after leaving the Hoboken station — in roughly the same area a PATH train derailed Sunday, a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman said.

path-train-hoboken.jpg“It was a minor derailment,” P.A. spokesman Marc Lavorgna said. “There are 28 wheels on that train with seven cars, and two of the wheels came off the track.”

The passengers were taken back to the Hoboken station on an emergency shuttle train. At the Hoboken station, Inspector Michael Guarnieri said the cause of the derailment is still unknown and under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Like Sunday’s minor derailment, the train was bound for 33rd Street in Manhattan. Service between the Hoboken and 33rd Street stations was disrupted, Lavorgna said.

Frank Ferrari, a Realtor who lives on Madison Avenue in Hoboken, said the train he was on yesterday sat motionless at the Christopher Street station in Manhattan for 45 minutes because of the derailment in Jersey City.

“They had everybody hanging around didn’t let anybody know what was going on,” he said, adding that his girlfriend was on the train that derailed Sunday.

Not as easy as it seems. In NY he can be locked up for aggressive panhandling. In NJ theres little we can do, besides tell people to NOT GIVE HIM ANY MONEY!! Easy as that! He won’t come around if therres no money!
