Candidates Forum at Stevens Institute
Stevens hosts Council Candidates Forum on April 20th
“Stevens Political Awareness Committee is pleased to host a Hoboken City Council candidates forum for May’s upcoming election. The forum will be held Wednesday, April 20 from 4:00 to 6:00pm in Babbio Center Room 122 located at the corner of 6th Street and River Terrace on Stevens’ Hoboken campus. We have extended invitations to all candidates.
The Stevens Political Awareness Committee (SPAC) is a student-led organization dedicated to informing Stevens students about politics and public officials. In the past years, the organization has hosted numerous local and county officials and candidates to debate and discuss issues on the Stevens campus. Individuals wishing to submit anonymous questions to be answered by the candidates can e-mail questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. Entry is free and open to the public.”
Some may ask why so early in the day? This particular forum – while open to the public, will primarily be focused on the school and it’s relationship to the city, and students/staff are the target audience.
There will be two panels: one will be for Wards 1-3 candidates and the second for Wards 4-6 candidates. Each panel will have 45-60 minutes. Each candidate will be allowed a 2 minute introduction, 2 minute closing and 1 minute response to each question. Questions will come from email submissions and the audience. There will be a reception to follow in the Babbio atrium.
