What’s happening to Hoboken?

How can we stifle bad activity in Hoboken?

Hoboken411 reader Rachel spotted this hypodermic needle on the streets of the Mile Square last week and said:

“Was walking home from the NJ Transit Light Rail yesterday and came across what looked like a syringe on Clinton between 10th and 11th. Only got close enough to take the picture, so I’m not sure if it actually is one or not. But the clever hiding place under that back tire is kind of suspicious. Fingers crossed I have a careless diabetic on my block!”

411 recently reported that violent crime is on the rise in Hoboken – and these “signs” are only evidence that our short-staffed police force is one of the reasons this may be happening.

Look out for your neighbors!

finding syringes in the streets near garbage cans in garbage cans in phone coin slots etc and even in the well to do areas of the city.. Many diabetics sell their used needles to junkies.. This is situation norm in many towns..The difference is the jet set reformers can fire up use bongs in their 3000.00 per month apts condos and still cry in outrage…I guess there is no drug users in the more refined neighborhoods. Pot speed meth seem to be the drug of choice with so many kids from all backgrounds..Good excuse is pressure of their peers..yeah right. 😉

It doesn’t help to have a short-staffed force and an incompetent mayor and inept people working at/for City Hall for ridiculous pay (maybe we should be handing more pink slips in there than in police and fire stations). But perhaps some of the recent criminal happenings also have to do with some people out there are trying to make ends meet or get a fix? Or on Saturday nights, just get some anger out?

Doesn’t make it right to steal and physically hurt people. It’s just a thought.

Also, Clinton/10th… Isn’t that where the park is?

This is why the short-staffed police force should be moved to Wednesdays.

I can’t help but notice the correlation between an increase in crime and moving the St. Patrick’s Day parade to mid-week.

shocking really.
