Hounds on the Hudson

They said:
“I can’t believe no one has mentioned Hounds on the Hudson in Guttenberg, in the pet services section. They offer dog daycare and boarding. I had such a good experience, I decided to share. When I had to go away on an unexpected trip I was nervous about leaving my 6 year old German Sheppard mix. After visiting several boarding facilities, I found Hounds on The Hudson. I was comfortable as soon as I walked in, the staff is so knowledgeable and well trained. The facility is impeccably clean (unlike most other facilities I’ve seen), they have spacious play runs, big kennel rooms, fenced-in outdoor run (which is wonderful I don’t have to worry about having my dog walked on the street). My baby had a great time and to top it all off he was groomed by their groomer the day I picked him up. They also have pickup and delivery (pet taxi) to Hoboken which is great. Now he gets picked up once a week for daycare. I can’t say enough good things about them!”

We brought a new puppy home a few months ago and needed to find a place for daycare a couple of days a week, as well as occasional boarding. After considering most of the other facilities in the area, we ultimately decided on Hounds on the Hudson because the facility is remarkably clean and the staff members all seemed friendly and caring. Over the past 3 months, we have used Hounds for daycare, boarding and puppy training. I highly recommend all three services. We have been very impressed with the staff and services and our 5-month old puppy absolutely loves being there. The daycare is reasonably priced ($21 a day with the package we bought) and they do a good job of matching dogs that play well together, so I never worry about his safety. I drop him off in the morning and his tail starts wagging immediately when we pull up outside. He can’t wait to get inside and runs over to the staff members, who seem excited to see him, too. We get a report card at the end of the day telling us what activities he did, which staff members were responsible for him and which dogs he played with. He is tired when we pick him up, and it is nice to know he has spent the day playing and having fun instead of lounging around the apartment by himself. We recently completed the Puppy Kindergarten class and couldn’t have been more pleased with it. Amy… Read more »

no you are not a dog walker–you hire people to walk the dogs for you business and treat them like dirt.

Stop dissing Kim. She was a successful dog walker that opened her own boarding and doggie daycare business and is doing a great job.
Everyone on here should feel comfortable sending their dog there if that is your choice.

“Your own place”, Are you trying to imply that I am the owner? To set the record strait I am not the owner as much as I would love to own a doggie daycare. I do know the owner Kim, she runs a great place. I appreciate her staff because my dog had lots of issues when I first went there looking for a place to board my dog for almost 2 weeks. At the time he had showed signs of dog aggression and even had begun to show signs of people aggression. After an evaluation they decided to take him on, when I returned home I was shocked to see him socializing with other dogs, and being handled by strangers with no problem. He seemed like a changed dog, I bring him once a week now to keep him socialized. I don’t know what he would be like today without that experience. I agree there are couple of “draw-backs”, one of them being their weekend hours, Sundays they close at 3 or 4pm and there have been a few times I got in too late and wasn’t able to pickup my dog until Monday. Other than a few minor things I love the place!

Personally I love this place my dogs gets taxied almost every day but I stop in twice a month to make sure everything’s kosher and the dogs are always running around, it almost reminds me of an indoor dog run. Never saw any thing shady, I like the fact that my dog is busy all day and comes home exhausted.
