I was in a rush and needed a haircut last week and could not get in with my stylist in the city so I thought I would try out this salon since I had heard some good things about it at club H. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. I went to the salon expecting a typical hoboken salon and when I got their I was in a total state of shock. This Salon looks like it was picked up from Soho in the city and dropped in to Hoboken. It is so beautiful and contemporary. It is very clean and very modern. When I walked in I was greated and my coat was taken, I was then escorted to the louge area and I was handed a drink menu with a Starbucks like menu (WOW). I was then given a tour of the salon and all I can say is the beautiful suspended fishtank alone is truly beautiful. After my tour my stylist came out and introduced himself, his name was William (very handsome I might add). He then took me to the styling floor and did my consultation and very thorough I might add. He then walked me to the shampoo area where I received the most relaxing shampoo and message I have ever received by his assistant Danny. When William was finished with my hair I shockingly realized I had found my new stylist, William. My hair is now more beautiful than it had ever been when I left my salon in the city. Thank you so much William, I am yours now!

Curtis was great. He looked at my pictures, asked questions, visited the website that inspired my updo idea. And then we did a test run for how I want my hair for my wedding. We need to find out if I had enough hair to do the do, or would we need extensions.
Here is picture from my inspiration site http://tinyurl.com/2rqqed.
I’ll post the test do Curtis gave me. When I get them off the camera that is.

Don’t charge for blowdry, if you’re getting the haircut (still not cheap). If you’re a Club H member you get I think 10-percent off.

well i’m going to see a junior stylist so it wont be THAT pricey.. now im just worried about the state of my hair when i walk out of there. i figure she cant be bad, they have a really good reputation and they wont let her cut hair if she would butcher it!

I don’t like chemical dyes. But I do like sometimes coloring my hair. So go strawberry blonde, I bought a container of Strawberry Henna (Rainbow Research brand) and Kelly mixed up the stuff and did my hair.
I used to henna my own hair, but it makes a mess, can leave your towel stained etc. This was the first time I paid someone to herbs and water.
It came out the color I expected. The visit to the salon was pleasant. I don’t know what the price would be elsewhere but it was fairly reasonable, no more than a cut there.
So if you want to color your hair without the chemicals Basic Food has the henna and Kelly does a great job.

I just moved to Hoboken about four weeks ago and decided to get my hair cut here after reading the reviews on this website. I went to William and he was AMAZING!! He was so so sweet and knew exactly what he was doing. When I asked about how he was styling my hair so I could do it at home, he told me exactly how to do everything. He was so so great and I would recommend him to anyone. I paid $65 but it was worth every penny.
The shampoo at the beginning was equally amazing. They take like 10 min to do it and then give you a little head/neck massage at the end too. The service was great and William was amazing!!
Oh yea, they also do free bang trims in between cuts too for anyone like me with bangs that grow really fast!

I LOVE this salon. They aren’t rude and encourage you to try different stylists. Heidi does THE BEST blonde ever. I had a consultation before I even went in for color and she took many ntoes. Once I was a little bummed about the color and she was so distressed that I was unhappy. She adjusted it right away for free. Seriously if you have blonde hair or want it Heidi is your girl. Michael cuts my hair and does wonderful job! And he’s so nice and always comes to say hello when I’m getting colored.
They have replaced the rude receptionists with lovely new ones and everyone is always happy to ask you if you would like a beverage. If one of the staff is going to Starbucks they will always ask you as well.
I have been coloring my hair for years and this is only the second salon that has blown out my hair at no additional cost. The first was in the city and VERY overpriced. After your hair is washed they also do this great stress relief that I can’t get enough of. And there are always fresh flowers at every station.
My friend who doesn’t even live in Hoboken comes here now and lovessssssss her hair. People think we’re sisters all the time.
Go to Caru, you won’t regret it! And you get the most bang for your buck.

I love this salon. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Very cool and modern look to it. I love Meg and Kodumu. They are both great stylists with great personalities. Only bad thing is my stylists keep getting promotions and I cant afford them anymore! All the stylists seem very skilled so I am confident whoever I go to next will give me a great cut.
