Rodízio Thursdays at Piri Piri BBQ

Looking for an awesome & different dinner options for tonight (or any Thursday night going forward)?

Piri Piri offers prix fixe Rodízio BBQ Thursdays!

Last week, Piri Piri BBQ (515 Washington St.) started a new Thursday Special: Rodízio (All you can eat for $14.99/pp).

The owners decided to mix it up a bit by offering Rodízio (Brazilian BBQ), and boy – were we thrilled! We always enjoyed dinner there (especially because it’s BYOB) – but last week was the best visit ever.

Brazilian-style service is different than ordering from a menu. The server essentially keeps bringing out various cuts of meat throughout your meal. Last week they had Sirloin, Turkey wrapped with bacon, Pork Ribs, Spare Ribs, Free range chicken, Sausage, and more. The meat selections can vary week to week – but you also get a communal plate of rice, beans, collard greens (nice!) and french fries. Definitely a fun way to eat dinner (and exceptionally tasty – especially the sirloin).

And if you don’t stuff yourself during dinner – save room for the Pasteis de Nata (Custard Cups). You will thank me later!

Note: Even if you’re just dining with two – ask for a bigger table. The small tables there are ridiculously tiny – especially with drinks on the table (water, wine, etc). A bit frustrating.

Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I went last night, were promptly seated, placed our order and popped open our bottle of wine. Ten minutes or so about 3 more parties arrived all within about 5 minutes of each other. ALL THREE were served before us. My boyfriend had to get up and walk to the back counter to ask what was going on. A few minutes later the waiter came over with two dishes – the sides plate of rice, beans, fries and greens and a plate of chicken wings and ribs. Immediately after placing the chicken and ribs he picked it up and took it away from us.

We felt so shunned and unwelcome. I don’t know if it is because we are an interracial couple, or the service just plain stinks. Just awful – everyone in the place was being served except for us – UNTIL we demanded our food. I will most certainly never go back.

It couldn’t have been a kitchen order error or just a simple mix up huh? It could have had racial overtones huh? After you’ve been promptly seated and your orders were taken? Seems to me that YOU’RE more uncomfortable with your interracial relationship than others.
My boyfriend and I went last night, were promptly seated, placed our order and popped open our bottle of wine. Bottom line, it was terrible service . . . who places a plate on a table and takes it away? Every table started out with the sides dish and the chicken and ribs – Except ours. Please pay no attention to “wind-and-dung-in-hob”..It’s a shame about the service, but if you did like the food you should give them a second chance and then decide if it was an off night or if they really have problems.
Bottom line, it was terrible service . . . who places a plate on a table and takes it away? Only one color matters in the service industry: green.
Bottom line, it was terrible service . . . who places a plate on a table and takes it away? Every table started out with the sides dish and the chicken and ribs – Except ours.

Usually I think Rodizio’s have a wide variety of meats, it doesnt look like from their regular menu that Piri Piri has such a wide selection. Can someone who has done the rodizio deal speak to this?

It’s a $15 all-you-can-eat, exceptionally tasty, meat buffet…even if was just 3 kinds of meat it’s well worth it.

If you want the 43-meat-variety Rodizio go pay $100 in the city.
Usually I think Rodizio’s have a wide variety of meats, it doesnt look like from their regular menu that Piri Piri has such a wide selection. Can someone who has done the rodizio deal speak to this?
They’ve been doing this since at least St. Patrick’s Day. Good deal.
