Hoboken crime and fire action: March 30, 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Wednesday, March 30, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 9:35pm – Car crash at uptown parking garage
Reports of a car that lost control in the Park on Park garage at 1415 Park Avenue – and crashed through the gate.
  • 6:10pm – “Man Down”
No, not the usual St. Patrick’s Day type of call – but rather a Hoboken man who jumped onto the “bicycle bandwagon” (you know, all the hype) – and he hadn’t ridden one in a while. He proceeded to flip the bike near 15th & Park, and landed on his head and was knocked temporarily unconscious. Thank God Hoboken doesn’t promote hang-gliding too.
  • 4:20pm – Transformer Explosion
Reports of a transformer explosion at the intersection of 5th & Willow. Police and Fire Departments en route.
  • 2:25am – Car crashes into parked cars
A vehicle struck the drivers side of several cars parked on Bloomfield Street between 3rd & 4th Streets. Two of the plates struck were RYU-91C and RDN-74A. The driver did not flee the scene because his car became disabled.

More updates to come…
