NJMCdirect.com – Quick Tip

Many of us in Hoboken have received some kind of parking summons, and might use the state website NJMCdirect.com to pay for our violations, rather than wasting your time at City Hall. It makes getting a stupid ticket a little easier to deal with, even though I don’t understand why they charge a $2.00 fee to process online. Doesn’t that save them time and resources? If anything, you should have to pay a fee when paying in person.

Anyway, I tried paying a recent ticket online today (while using my new Microsoft Vista operating system), and was having all sorts of issues getting through. Both Firefox and Internet Explorer both were unable to get to the credit card processing part of the process. I thought the website was having issues. When talking to someone else who was also paying a ticket online, they had no issues! I even had them look up my ticket for me, and it worked. So I tried my other computer running Windows XP, and lo behold it worked. It doesn’t make sense to me that it wouldn’t work with Vista. Does anyone else have Vista and tried to pay online yet?

Sounds like an issue w/ Vista. It has worked for me using IE. While we’re on the subject, a ticket I got roughly two weeks ago has not shown up in the online site. I called the municipal court and they told me just to keep checking and calling back. Should that be my responsibility…to keep checking back??? Am a still responsible to pay the ticket if it isn’t in the system?

I thought it was a question if anybody else was having problems trying to pay their fines while using Vista and IE or Firefox.

For what its worth, it sounds really odd that an operating system would make such a difference when viewing a plain HTML site using the latest IE or Firefox.
