I'd just like to say my new obsession is their Filet Mignon wrap. The fresh mozz & sauteed onions & mushrooms. OMG. I dream about this. I want one now. So Juicy Delicious.

Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip app here last night and was HUGELY disappointed.

first, for anyone who's ever worked in a restaurant....they used those cheap nacho chips that come in the huge clear bag. they are the cheapest chips you can get, small and round, and yellowish/orangish. they taste horrible.

the dip was obviously pre-packed and not made there.
It has been a few months since I bartended there but I remember the dip was always a fan favorite.

I'm not sure if Mike and Cindy (the owners) read 411, but I would definitely suggest saying something. While I was working there, they were very much concerned about quality control from their kitchen and bar.
i'll mention it next time i go there. but my sister-in-law is a chef, and she'd laugh at this dip. she makes a simple one at home that costs next to nothing. for a $9 app in hoboken, the dip should be better. it looks and tastes like it's out of a can. fine - but get better quality. and the chips are just pathetic. i'll ask for the owners next time. hope they are there. i'll definitely go back cause i love their food - but this was utter disappointment.
Chips are so easy too. Fry them in house and they taste so much better.
even tortilla chips. anything. madison's has toasted bread for their dip. it's perfect. i worked in restaurants before, so i happen to recognize these as the cheapest chips a place can possible get. they usually go under mounds of velveeta and other toppings, so most customers never taste them.

I was housesitting on 8th & Hudson back in December. I had dinner in Mikie Squared one night. I just had a burger. It was good, pricey but good. The days of Dooley's and Dipper's are gone unfortunatley for alot of reasons. I wish I could remember what it briefly was called before it became Dipper's. Whoever posted about bar bathrooms being downstairs being a bad idea. I couldn't agree more. Oddfellow's bathrooms are downstairs as well as Hudson Tavern. I will not use a bathroom that is downstairs in a bar. I'll just "P" on your floor. Only Kidding
Good when Chris ran it. I don't think he still does, though.
here is how you make Mikies special Sangria:

ice pitcher, 4 count Peach Snapps, 4 count Triple Sec, 4 count Brandy, 3/4 pitcher Carlo Rossi Burgandy, chopped fruit, 2 tablespoons of sugar, splash of sprite and orange juice. Enjoy.
