Reader Mail: Low Flying Planes

airport-plane-hoboken.jpgOnce in a while some of the planes often fly low depending on the wind direction and cloud ceiling height. But rarely have I felt what new Hoboken411 reader “LightninSkyHop” has experienced.

He says:

“I can’t be the only one who has noticed jets vibrating my condo every 5 minutes all God-damned night. I’ve been here 5 years and noticed that this just started this week.(rumbling my entire building) It’s like my 1/2 million dollar little box of a home(condo)has now moved next to Newark Airport.

Christ! I could get a lot more space in Kearney or E-port for this kind of noise!!”

Does anyone else notice these disturbing noises? Or is it just a case of thin-walled condo syndrome (TWaCS)?

Did anyone hear one around 4am this morning? It woke me up out of a sound sleep and I can’t get back to sleep now. Where are the people that work at the airport? I would think that they would maybe know something.

Trying to get back to sleep… again… although what’s the point? I have to be up at 7…

Just to set the record straight. Its not a case of TWaCS. I usually hear nothing from outside except fire engine sirens and the cars with trunks full of subwoofers…
Thanks for the bit of wisdom there though Solomon – aka “duffysneighbor”. Problem solved I guess…

I heard something last night too. It freaked out my cat–very low-flying plane.

I heard on the news that the FAA is changing flight pattens and that might be making some neighborhoods unhappy. I live in SW Hoboken and I haven’t heard any planes, just booming low riders 8)
