Undercover drug bust

Sent in by a reader:

“FYI
It looks like there was just an undercover drug bust on Monroe between 3rd and 4th! I watched a cop in plain clothes arrest a man on the street… then 3 more cop cars showed up and took the man away! I really need to move off this street…”

no they told me they were not allowed to give that info out. I did some searches on the internet but was only able to come up with general numbers for Hoboken as a whole. The closest thing I came to was the crime map on this website with respect to breaking things down by area within Hoboken.
That strikes me as very odd. I’m not entirely sure that they’re legally required to, but I think they are. I mean even L.A. gives out crime stats and they have little enough to brag about.
You may need to file an OPRA request. Open Records Public Act. Be ready for the runaround though.

Taurus76—Yes, you’re right, you do have to start somewhere but at the same time you need to look down the road to when you’re ready to trade up. If you buy in the wrong area, you are going to have a hard time selling (especially in a cold market) and won’t make much of a profit even in a good market. How about a condo in a better part of town? Yes, it will cost more and most likely you won’t get all the features you want but when it comes time to sell, you will be better off. When buying a first home, unless you’re wealthy, you won’t get all that you want. I know-been there, done that. However, I would never compromise when it comes to the neighborhood. We were very firm about that and it took a while before we found a place but it was worth it when it came time to sell. As a realtor put it to us–you have to crawl before you walk…
