St. Patty’s Prep in Hoboken

3/4/2011:

A few PortoJohnnies for the masses

Some signs that the Hoboken St. Patrick’s Parade is tomorrow: A select few porto-potties scattered about uptown.

Between 10th and 15th Streets – a total of eight were spotted (and 25% of them were provided by Helmer’s – and not the city).

50,000 bladders competing for these means that bars are not the only place you’ll see lines tomorrow!

Tomorrow I will be sending the following letter to the Mayor and all City Council men and women. I will attach H411’s list of the offenses committed during the day and night. Dear __, As I look at the following attached pages at the partial list of situations that occurred in Hoboken last night, I have to ask, why are you not doing everything in your power to ban this annual disgrace permanently? Is this how we want Hoboken to be portrayed, as a place where thousands of people can come to commit rape and to fight, to get so intoxicated that they become incapacitated, to urinate and pass out in our streets? Is this what we want our police, fire and EMS personnel doing? While I understand that the city takes in a great deal of revenue from the summonses handed out, and that the bars and liquor stores love this day, I like to think we are better than that, that we care enough about the families and taxpayers who are the backbone of the city to see to it that they should not have to be confronted with such mayhem. My family did not witness any of the activities described below, because for the third year in a row we chose to leave Hoboken early in the day and not return until the following morning. I would rather spend money on a hotel room outside of Hoboken than see and hear this chaos and lawlessness for many… Read more »

It’s all about MONEY-shame on The City of Hoboken leaders for allowing this
mess year after year The bars make money: The City makes money with all the fines
and it’s paid to Police, Fire, and Environmental Services in Overtime (well deserved
overtime) This is not what a St Patrick’s celebration is supposed to be! Change the
parade during the week, or do away with it completely- Go to New York on the
17th if you want to see a parade.

I hate to be mean, but it sounds like a hook-up gone wrong. What probably happened was that the girl was embarassed when she got caught with two men and the word “rape” was the first thing that popped into her intoxicated mind. My sympathy for her, therefore, is very limited![quote comment=”203933″]senior building on bloomfield st, 11 floor washer dryer room, woman came out apt to find 2 naked me and naked grl, in mist of doing it. police called.
