Hoboken crime and fire action: April 3, 2011
Various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls for Sunday, April 3, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.
- 1:13am: Street Fight
Reports of a fight near 3rd & Willow – outside the old St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Room entrance.
- 11:58pm: Awning fire!
The awning outside Imposto’s Pizza at 102 Washington Street is on fire. HFD en route to douse it out. How the heck does that happen?
- 11:44pm: Street Fight!
Reports of a street fight at 6th & Jefferson Streets. HPD en route as the fight has sprawled into the hallway at 602 Jefferson.
- 9:45pm: Possible Fire near 8th & Grand
A Hoboken resident living near 8th & Adams claimed they saw flames coming from a building near or behind Atlantic Tropical (near the Hoboken High School). HFD is on scene now and is having trouble locating the source of the flames. Possible BBQ? This has happened in the past when someone starts a charcoal hibachi where they’re not supposed to…
- 7:07pm: Foot pursuit from Jersey City spills into Hoboken
Reports of a fight that started in Jersey City Heights (one injured person taken to Jersey City Medical Center). Four suspects involved. Initial reports involved a “handgun and machete.” Jersey City Police spotted the men on Paterson Plank Road headed into Hoboken, and notified HPD where multiple foot pursuits took place. Two of the four men were apprehended (it turned out to be a BB Gun and machete) – and the other two are currently still at large (possibly in the projects at 5th and Marshall). Suspects described as black or Hispanic, wearing hoodies, baseball caps, etc.
