Chicken Galore – Hoboken – Doomed

Chicken Galore Doomed

Less than two years after opening – Chicken Galore uptown appears to have bitten the dust (for a second time, too!)

If you really loved their chicken – you’re not out of luck, as they still have a location over in Woodbridge, NJ.

Chicken Galore Hoboken – 363 15th Street

12/15/2011 Update:

Great news for Fried Chicken lovers in Hoboken…

Chicken Galore is just about ready to open their doors! Spoke with the owner yesterday, and they’re pretty much set to open any time they want, but he said he’s expecting his rotisserie chicken machine today – and may be open as early as next week, but “absolutely no later than the day after Christmas.”

See Hoboken Chicken Galore Menu here.

Chicken Galore will have late night weekend hours, and they’ll play the weeknights by ear. Delivery will absolutely be available from day one (they’re using Mauro’s – who delivers for Lisa’s Deli, Charrito’s Mexican, Ubu Sushi and other Hoboken restaurants.)

Finally – a bonafide REAL fried chicken place in town! (licking fingers in anticipation!)

Description: Delicious and greasy fried chicken, ribs, fries, and much more. See menu here.
Address: 363 15th St., Hoboken, NJ 07030

Slogan: “Cook no more – call Chicken Galore!”

Fried Chicken Bailout: Chicken Galore back in Hoboken!

2/2/2011:

Back in July 2010 – Hoboken411 published an insightful entry entitled “Great Hoboken Business Opportunity” for this location at 363 15th Street. Indicating it’d be a great place for late night grub – considering you have the Clearview Cinemas and Carpe Diem bar right around the corner – and the Pilsener Haus Biergarten coming soon this spring.

Well, the owners of Chicken Galore must have agreed – and will be opening up what will probably be the most addictive fried chicken joint in the Mile Square!

Cheers for fried chicken and Chicken Galore!

lackluster quality and out of the way location isn’t on the radar of most people. A good fried chicken place can do well in Hoboken at the right spot. Northwest side of town is still fairly desserted at night

Didn’t feel right ordering food from that place.

I made the mistake of ordering from them once. Got multiple things wrong with the order, food was cold, and not very good. That was the last time I ordered from them.
Didn’t feel right ordering food from that place.
Every order I made with them was wrong. Their excuse was that it was Delivery.com’s fault, not theirs, and wouldn’t refund my money for the cost difference between what I ordered and what I got. Have to agree with that. I had their menu, but after checking them out on the way to Pilsener Haus, I tossed the menu.
It looked less than clean, and the employees there seemed more interested in reading their texts behind the counter than helping the few customers in front of them. When you’re in an out of the way part of town, you have to work extra hard to make a good name for yourself. They didn’t.
Didn’t feel right ordering food from that place.
From the “little things that amuse me” files, a 12-piece bucket costs more than 3x the price of 3 individual 4-piece buckets (only by $0.24, but still…no bulk discount?)
