Hoboken Police and Fire Blotter: 1/27/2011
Hoboken crime and fire action: January 27, 2011
Continuing a fresh page from the blotter of January 26, 2011…
An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Thursday, January 27, 2011. This post will be updated and “bumped” periodically.
- 11:30pm: Street Dispute
Disturbance reported near 1st & Harrison Streets.
- 11:05pm: More Water Leaks
Multiple water leaks being reported simultaneously in Hoboken.. one at 72 Jefferson and the other at 322 Washington.
- 5:40pm: Passed out!
“Unconscious party” at Ganache Cafe uptown at 1500 Washington Street…
- 3:25pm: Wires down
Willow Ave. between 9th and 10th – wires down on the roadway…
- 3:20pm: Car Accident
Minor car accident on Grand between 4th & 5th. No injuries reported..
See earlier updates after the jump…
- 2:45am: More Hoboken Cop Cars Stuck
Two more Hoboken Police Patrol Cars stuck.. one downtown – and the other on 8th Street. Oh, one of the 14th Street cars from earlier was also a PD vehicle.
- 2:20am: Stuck is a new four letter word
Another car stuck at 10th and Park. Hoboken PD gives priority to “intersection” incidents over “middle of the road” – for obvious reasons (fire trucks, ambulances…)
- 2:15am: Cars stuck all over!
Two different cars are stuck on 14th Street uptown – blocking the roadway. One near the Malibu Diner – and the other near Hudson Street. Where are the plows? Where was the salt? Why is “botch” becoming one of the most frequently heard words when used in conjunction with “Hoboken City Hall?”
- 2:00am: Hoboken Cop Injured
One Hoboken Police Officer slipped and fell on city property (Police HQ), and injured his back. He’s being transported to Hoboken University Medical Center. Proof positive that the folks behind closed doors at city hall collecting prescription meds commissions cannot run a municipality properly.
- 1:25am: “Smart Car” looks pretty friggin dumb right now
10th and Garden Streets – one of those “eco-friendly” smart cars – stuck and according to HPD “Ain’t goin anywhere.” See what happens when you try to tell Mother Earth you know better than her? She slams your bogus car with a heavy blanket of snow – all while a black-gold loving 8 cylinder SUV blows smoke in your face!
- 1:10am: Car accident uptown
More motor vehicle accidents – even with hardly any cars on the road. This time at 15th and Park Avenues. No basic common sense questions on the drivers test I would assume…
- 12:45am: Conditions Horrific in Hoboken
Not sure where the plows are – but street conditions due to the major winter storm are the worst right now in Hoboken. All roads I’ve seen haven’t been touched – and many Hoboken Police cars are getting stuck in town.
More updates to come…
