Hoboken police and fire blotter: 1/17/2011

Hoboken crime and fire action: January 17, 2011

An ongoing list of various noteworthy incidents, crimes and fire-calls throughout the day for Monday, January 17, 2011. This post may be updated and “bumped” periodically.

  • 7:00am: Lazy SUV owner towed away
A truck driver called HPD to say he couldn’t access the A&P Supermarket parking lot to make a delivery. A Porsche Cayenne SUV was blocking the driveway. Vehicle summonsed and towed away.
Luxury SUV-owner now has to deal with not-so luxurious experience getting ride back from the dingy tow-yard uptown.
  • 6:45am: Elderly Woman falls, hurts hand
Near 10th & Hudson, reports of an “87 year-old female who fell inside her apartment and hurt her hand..”
See the difference between having a “smart phone” in hand – and not?
  • 5:15am: Woman falls, hits head
Reports of a “Female who fell and hit her head near the taxi stand at the PATH station.”
The cartoon thought bubble over my head says: “Maybe if you weren’t so occupied with fiddling with your Facebook App on your iPhone, you would have been able to block your fall properly? Or wait a minute – perhaps not even fell at all?”

More updates to come…
