Garden Street Water Main Break

12/29/2010 6pm Update:

Garden Street collapses; truck falls in!

If the water main break on Garden Street couldn’t get any worse – a United Water truck just sunk into the ground – and now they’re fearing a GAS PIPE may be in danger.

Water main break on Garden; probably more to come

Hoboken411 Tweeted this water main break on Garden Street between 1st and 2nd early this morning. Here’s what it looked like 12 hours later. Road closed, and water still coming out.

With all the heavy trucks and road carnage – there’s a good chance you’ll be reading stories like this regularly.

Someone should invent floating “Welcome to Hoboken” signs we can place in the puddles each time this happens!

I know these guys are working hard and late to fix the water main break and I appreciate it but do they really need to have the same truck running for the past 4 hours? The truck isn’t even near the break. Sorry about complaining but it’s loud. They are also wasting a ton of gas.

It is considered double-parking when the vehicle is only half in the lane? Or half below the lane?

can we get a second street collapse free if we just pay separate processing and handling charges?
