Cake Boss clogs sidewalk again!

Line or no line – Cake Boss has sidewalk issues

Hoboken411 reader Mike sent in the following photo and said:

“I took this photo on the way home from work around 5:30 pm. I found it funny. As if it wasn’t bad enough that storefronts in Hoboken don’t shovel, our beloved Cake Boss Carlo’s Bakery has now found a new way to clog the sidewalk: tourists when it is nice out, snow when it is not.

The bodega to the right and Verizon the the left had no problem clearing the way but since Carlos isn’t making money selling t-shirts, why contribute to the town at all?”

What a joke. This town has no problem ticketing and booting illegally parked cars in the same day to raise revenue, so why don’t they start fining the absentee landlords and lazy storeowners who don’t shovel their sidewalks hours after the snow has stopped? Write to your councilperson and the mayor if you have a problem with this. I was up at 5am shoveling my sidewalk before going into work today but the Cake Boss couldn’t hire a couple kids to shovel his sidewalk in the busiest part of town? As if the tourists taking up the sidewalk all the way to CVS wasn’t bad enough, and right across from our seat of government. I hate cake!

Carlo’s is in the 1st Ward, represented by Theresa Castellano (email@castellanoforhoboken.com). The mayors email is: dzimmer@hobokennj.org

If you have a complaint about a particular building or business not shoveling their sidewalk as required by law I suggest you look at this ward map to determine what ward you’re in and then contact the appropriate councilperson (found on the second link). Nothing will change unless you let them know you’re unhappy:

Take a picture as well, nothing like hard proof. This is another case of the owners who do not live in town and cannot take care of their property. They should be largely fined , there are many small companies that take care of this kind of clean up and not expensive.[quote comment=”201267″]Carlo’s is in the 1st Ward, represented by Theresa Castellano (email@castellanoforhoboken.com). Remember, the Cake Boss claims he is from Hoboken and has always been and he takes care of the town. That is how get gets the money to keep flowing in…when in fact the guys entire fame is based on 95% lies.[quote comment=”201325″]Take a picture as well, nothing like hard proof. You don’t have to write anybody… take pictures of the sidewalk and make sure they are dated, get a copy of the city ordinance online and print out the statement posted yesterday either on H411 or from Mayor Zimmer stating that tickets will be issued to everyone that did not shovel after the snow stropped no exceptions…. I just read it yesterday… and go to city hall on the 2nd floor and sign a ticket against the Cake Dick! It is that simple! It s not like nobody knows who the building owner is or his name. The ticket can be issued immediately by an inspector either to the business or mailed to the Cake Dicks house an hour away!

The cakes better be extra good tomorrow.

Sure lets ticket the landlord. They have 6 hours from when the snowing stops. Who should get the ticket for the deplorable condition of our streets. Lets start with Dawn Zimmer and her Environmental Services director. What a sham!!!
