Off the beaten path here, but it was published in the local paper that the sale of HUMC would be discussed at the 12/15 council meeting, did they ever get to that? Just wondering. 🙄

LOL! I heard thru the grapevine that it was going to stay open as an “assisted living” facility, or medical/surgical center. Liberty Health wanted to buy it, but they can’t even afford to keep Medical Center afloat even with furloughs, they still had to lay off. I was told the ER will remain open no matter what, even the employees are not being told anything. Just wondering about all the hype is all. 🙄 [quote comment=”201031″]r56 don’t fret it…this is a case of mind over matter..they dont mind and you dont matter its gonna be a condo…They will regret it down the road. watching this now. Lenz is speaking about the $25 fee. He’s saying that coaches have players that don’t show up. Here’s one reason. There are kids that play both on Travel and Rec soccer. These kids are told, Travel teams always are a priority, if there is a conflict and you have a travel game at the same time as your Rec game, then you skip the rec game and go to travel. There are rec teams with several members who are on travel also. Getting information in advance of what team you will be on and the practice schedule is like pulling teeth. There are kids that have other activites they are already comitted to and even if they request not to have a certain practice day, they can and do get assigned to the day that they cannot make it. Also, how is it that for Rec teams, there are teams loaded with all the “top” players and they dominate. How does that happen? Shouldn’t kids be randomly assigned to allow for leveling the playing field, making it more competitive. In paying a fee, we need better playing facilities. That so called “field” on 15th is terrible and not worth the cost. The teams have sponsors (atleast soccer and baseball do) and pay money to the leagues for this. I think they need to explain and give a detailed accounting of exactly where this money goes and how it improves the quality of the program for the kids… Read more »

424 It was funny to see him on the other side of the microphone…He dosen’t have a clue in regard to sports in Hoboken …The field is on 10th and jefferson st. soccer is not the issue and not the sport of choice .Hoboken high has a soccer team..that not one kid was given a free ride to a college in regard to that… Bottom line there is no more room unless the reformers want to put fiields on the roofs of their condos etc..Hoboken had traveling teams and city paid the tab..btw before many revollters migrated here our kids went to Russia in 88 and puerto rico to play in championship games..btw parents paid their own way..It’s a bunch of crap to bark about..[quote comment=”200962″]watching this now.
