June 2007 review:

For starters, I’ve been to Lua many times for reasons other than eating. While I’ve tasted the some of the dishes, and found them enjoyable, I’ve never formally sat down and had a meal until last Memorial Day weekend.

Had the brunch special. Which is basically $15 per person, but you pick one dish, and have unlimited Mojiotos, Bloody Marys or Mimosas. Not sure if that is “while your plate is on the table” or not, but I had four Mojitos and was quite satisfied.

We sat outside, and I found it to be just fine, although my date thought the seating arrangements reminded her of “Ikea” furniture. Definitely not long-term seating, but was ok for me (and I’m a enormous 6’4″ dude).

Simple menu with about 20 or more different options to choose from. Read the quick synopsis below.

She chose the Grilled tuna salad (with all sorts of stuff, vegetables, avocado, etc), encrusted in sesame seeds. Very tasty and satisfying. She ate slowly and enjoyed it tremendously.

I picked (as usual) a dish with some form of bacon in it. The grilled chicken BLT. I found the chicken to be well cooked and perfectly seasoned. It was on some toasted white bread and a side of fries. The fries were decent in my book, as I ate most of them (except the one I dropped on the floor).

Overall, I think this is a fabulous place for a quick and economical brunch. Great views of Manhattan, acceptable service, and a good buzz afterward.

Give it a shot one weekend if you’re in town and not at some beach house!

I have only had really good food their. And was also their for brunch this weekend with no problems. Always disapointing to here when good restaurants are not consistent.

you mean “…really good food there.” and “…disappointing to hear when…”
just correcting your spelling. the syntax is hopeless.

yes, let’s not forget punctuation marks. the Question Mark can be your friend! written at the end of a sentence (such as it is) to indicate a direct question.

Strand and Strand Tramp, mano-a-mano … It’s like watching Gollum’s Soliloquy in The Lord of The Rings.
