Americana Family Jamboree
EDIT: It’s at the Rue School. NOT Maxwell’s.
Featuring The Demolition String Band!
Here’s a great combination of a family event and some down-home bluegrass music to get the vibes going.
(FYI, there seemed to be a conflict of information from the HFA and the band itself, the dates got a little confused, as well as the venue. It’s quite possible the show will be at both Rue School @ 2:00pm and at Maxwell’s at 4:00pm – will confirm later).
It’s either just Maxwell’s or both, I’ll let you know!:
Sunday, January 14th
Rue School, 3rd & Garden Streets
Start Time: 2:00PM; Admission for Adults is $5; Children are Free
Maxwell’s, 11th St. & Washington St.
Start Time: 4:00PM; Admission for Adults is $10; Children are Free
Come in out of the cold and enjoy an afternoon of good vibe music from the Americana songbook! The Americana Family Jamboree has been offering music, dancing and sing-alongs for the whole family for over three years now, with songs that children and parents both love! Hosted by The Demolition String Band with banjo, fiddle, mandolin and upright bass The Americana Family Jamobree features songs by The Carter Family, Woody Guthrie, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Grandpa Jones and many others, as well as old time fiddle tunes and banjo breakdowns that anyone can dance to! Remember, it’s a “bring the whole family” type show, so don’t forget the kids. Wear your dancing shoes. Cowboy hats optional.
