Death By Suicide at Pier C Park in Hoboken NJ

Hoboken411 broke the news of the Suicide Jumper at Pier C Park earlier. Below are some images of the floater as the NJ State Police Marine unit scooped the lifeless body out of the river.

They’re currently “processing” the stiff at the 13th Street Marina (i.e., “pronouncing the victim dead.”) It should be noted that a Hoboken411 Poll indicating “when the first suicide would be at Pier C Park” in the original Pier C Park thread. Just calling it like I see it, folks!

Very sad story – but is anyone else disturbed by the poll?

Absolutely not. I have no problem with the poll. I didn’t think twice about how this was reported. This was a too public incident, and is being covered pubilicly.
Very sad story – but is anyone else disturbed by the poll?
And by the way, to those of you who think that suicide is selfish: I disagree.

What I consider ridiculously selfish is the bunch of you who can’t offer compassion to those who need it most. Like those who consider or commit suicide. You probably have no idea what it’s like to feel so overwhelmed by crap that the only option you find out of it is doing away with your life. And you also likely have never experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide either. Because if you did, the last thing you’d be feeling about that person is that he/she was a selfish asshole.

I hope that, one day, you don’t wind up eating the very sh*t you spew here.

I can’t imagine being distraught enough that someone feels the need to end their lives. How dare they come here and inconvenience us precious Hobokenites by carrying out the act here. Your view of this is quite selfish.
I agree suicide is terrible ! But what gets me is why come to Hoboken Bellville is right near a river..
Well, I was wondering the same thing too! Why did she come here? Were there people or relatives here she visited or lived with? Did something happen close by to set this off? Nothing selfish about kal-el response. The woman was here with her purse and gym bag It just seemed so spontaneous.
I can’t imagine being distraught enough that someone feels the need to end their lives. That’s another way of looking at it that I did not consider. Thanks for opening up my mind. My apologies Kal-el.
Well, I was wondering the same thing too!
