Anikas Kati Roll: Great midtown Indian in Hoboken!

On a recent Saturday afternoon, I stopped in at Anika’s Kati Roll Grill to grab a Meethi/Sweet Lassi ($3) (a mango yogurt drink that I find so refreshing when dehydrated).

Because the buffet was in full swing, I had an impromptu sampling of the entrees and appetizers that they have to offer. Excellent value, and even better food. This is out on Saturdays & Sundays and is only $9.95 between 12pm and 4pm; and $11.95 from 4pm until 9pm.

Some of my favorites were the Veggie Samosas – you really have to try them to believe them (and I’ve had my share of samosas) – and the Chicken Saagwala and Chicken Korma entrees. As you can see from the pictures, Anika’s also shares a large variety of sauces and sides to complement the sweet and spicy flavors of your buffet selections.

One final note: I appreciated their light and airy atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the chef who is genuinely proud of the food he serves to Hoboken residents and visitors. Enthusiasm and customer appreciation seems to be making a comeback in the Mile Square!

I suggest you visit Anika’s (618 Washington) for a spicy buffet lunch or dinner, especially during our chilly weather!

I haven’t been there since the first week they were open and I wasn’t thrilled. I guess I’ll have to give them a second shot.

I felt ambivalent after my first experience- to me the Indian food in a wrap didn’t appeal as much (just a personal thing). I’m glad I tried the place again because the buffet is a great deal and is more what I’m looking for when I’m in the mood for Indian food. I more recently realized that the menu has a lot of platters too – not just the kati rolls.[quote comment=”199517″]I haven’t been there since the first week they were open and I wasn’t thrilled. Agree 100%. Not only is the food great but the people who work there are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure they’re treating you well as a customer. One of the best new additions to the Hoboken food scene this past year.
