In defense of Cake Boss fans

11/2/2010:

The intricacies of the Cake Boss line in Hoboken

Hoboken resident Matt Marone wrote an article for unwinnable.com – going behind the scenes of a typical line for the Cake Boss on Washington Street.

He noticed a sign that residents installed on one of the doors that happens to be “in the line of fire” of the very long lines Carlo’s Bakery is known for. Informative, but civil to say the least.

However, he thought that it required a bit of parody – and decided to write a “response” to said sign in defense of the die-hard Cake Boss fans (before the 15 minutes of fame expires…)

Check the article out here.

completely unrelated…is anybody bothered by the constant “suspicious packages” that they are finding in Newport? Washington Blvd is closed off now for like the 3rd time in 3 months…and it’s never reported anywhere in the media!

I believe this is the place you are talking about? http://hoboken411.com/archives/50051 – Incidentally, I agree that enough is enough with the TV series for every last thing!

On a related front, it appears there is a new bakery soon to open near 6th on Washington. It’s being billed as a German bakery (good crumb cake and strudel?).
As much as I’ve liked Carlos in the past, that place is so crowded no one goes there anymore. If the new bakery is good, we need to pass a city ordinance forbidding them from having a TV series.

That’ll be nice. I used to go to Riveria Bakery a lot, not because it was particularly good, but it was open late. Now it’s Wells Fargo mortgage. Interesting way to phrase that–it’s so crowded no one goes there anymore…lol
