William Howard Home: Unique products & great prices!

One Hoboken411 reader is a fan of the store William Howard Home (138 Park Ave.), and wrote me a while back to encourage me to post an update.

This reader emphasized the “surprisingly reasonable prices” and “unique items,” and raved about owner Caren Rankin and her cute dog “Bob Wiggins.”

I finally had a chance to drop in recently, and that worked out nicely because there are a lot of seasonal items in the store right now. I don’t do much decorating myself, but some things caught my eye like the selection of glassware. Caren also showed me some new natural fiber carpets that she’s started selling. Apparently they are special order, but there are a lot of swatches to check out. I suggest you swing by sometime soon. Caren and Bob Wiggins were welcoming, and she even happened to have a nice fall beverage the day I stopped in – black coffee mixed with Bailey’s Irish Cream. Tasty stuff!

I’ve been here many times, and absolutely love it. Items there seem to be selected with a lot of care (many are antiques) and then priced with the customers in mind. When it comes to shopping, I’m not complusive but I hardly ever walk out of William Howard Home without buying something. Don’t know what it is…
