Halloween Sights: Old Fashioned Weapons
[Continuing the ORIGINAL Hoboken411 “Halloween Sights 2010” series…]
Weapons and blood top Hoboken Halloween choices
Walking around town, I took a quick photo of a Halloween decoration uptown including bloody hatchet hanging through a wrought iron planter. Then a little while later I saw another weapon farther downtown: can anyone guess what business has this Halloween decoration in its window?
On my walk home, I briefly wondered where the phrase “bury the hatchet” comes from. Apparently, this was a tradition among warring Native American tribal Chiefs when they finally came to an agreement with another tribe.
Doesn’t seem like we’ll be burying too many hatchets in Hoboken in that case!
