60 Second Review: Ultramarinos

Ultramarinos continues to impress Hoboken

I had a chance to stop in at Ultramarino’s (260 3rd St.) recently and was once again astounded by how delicious the food is. My light lunch included a few small empanadas (these are so spicy and flavorful!) and a pressed Cuban sandwich on a roll with some baked-in raisins. I’m not always a fan of dried fruits, but I’m glad I took a chance – the sandwich was delicious and the Dijon mustard and pickles were the perfect balance with the sweeter-than-normal roll.

Lastly, I got a “Hibiscus Cooler,” also known as “Agua de Jamaica.” It’s hard to describe this drink – like an chilled ruby-red herbal tea just a little sweet, but also tart. Definitely quenched my thirst!

Also, if you make it in this week, check out all the fresh Halloween treats and snacks!

One of my favorite spots in Hoboken. Nothing else like it.
