Big Fun Toys

12/2/2010 Update:

A fresh update from Big Fun Toys for this holiday season!

Big Fun Toys: 2010 Update

“Big Fun in coming up on our 5th year under new (and great!) ownership and we are happy to say the customer support has been great! Our loyal locals (and out of town visitors) keep us constantly in the need for new toys and interesting items you might not find everywhere else!

Since being under new ownership, we’ve incorporated a Personalized section to our store. Items can be decorated with a theme of your choice and a child’s name for no extra charge. Many of our customers have taken this up as a great gift for the “kid who has everything”.

This year’s popular items have been things like Green Toys brand, whose entire line is made from recycled plastic milk jugs, and Bruder trucks, which are exact replicas made in Germany. Other favorites include Sophie the Giraffe (an all natural rubber teething toy), Orb Factory’s Sticky Mosaics (great art projects!), Playmobil, Ugly Dolls, Hexbugs, and Thomas the Train.

Not to mention some all time classics like Crazy Cat Lady, Instant Excuse 8 Ball, Stylish Moustaches, and the Bacon Wallet!

Some brand new products this year for us include Clementine Art products made out of entirely natural and safe ingredients, the Skuut Balance bikes, and the super-popular Maxi and Mini Kickboard Scooters.

And just in time for the holidays, this season’s latest trends include Sing-a-ma-Jigs, Sqwishies, Calico Critters, Loopz, Sonic Slam, and Elf on the Shelf, all of which you can find in stock here!

Aside from keeping new and exciting products in the store, we do our very bestest to help each and every customer find just what they’re looking for, or at least something close! We also still provide FREE gift wrapping on any item (except for weird things like…hula hoops).

Feel free to stop in and peruse any time, you never know what you might find!

Regular store hours Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 11-6. Holiday Hours (Thanksgiving thru Christmas) Mon-Sat 10-8, Sun 10-7 – Christmas Eve 10-4.

Been a long time since I updated Big Fun! Last of this today’s mini business updates.

Yesterday, they were preparing to put their fancy new upgraded sign up. Much better than before, which just confused the bejesus out of people. Way to go, Big Fun!

11/09/2006 Update:

Long-time Hoboken Toy store under new ownership!

As of November 1st, Big Fun (which has been in business nearly 15 years) has a new owner. Jenny Robertson, who also has a toy store in Manasquan, NJ, had purchased the store from previous owners Joe Falzarano and Tracey Becker. Since they’ve long moved out to California, they wanted to focus their energy on new endeavors.

They plan on changing things up a bit, specifically adding new merchandise with a strong emphasis on personalized children’s gifts. The same friendly staff will remain, along with the same attentive service. I happen to love the gift-wrapping job they do at Christmas time.

I hope they keep the tradition of great gift-wrapping. My family thought I finally got some cutting and taping skills!

  2. xavier says:

Yeah, the gift wrapping there is pretty amazing. Pretty cool stuff, and I have long tried to shop there first. I believe in shopping locally if they’ve got the goods.

Still can’t figure out how this place stays open.
Guess it is the stupid whitey that will buy anything!

“Oh look buffy, It is a ball! WOW, I haven’t seen one of those is a long time, let’s get it, it’s $30, I don’t care it will be something to talk about at our dinner party!”

Or maybe it is the bored housewives that stroll around during the day buying this garbage.
They should give me 30 dollars, I have something they can play with!

Well no one on here has ever accused you of being bright.

  5. TBizzle says:

Cracker, Do you have wireless access in your cell or do you get this much ‘recreation’ time in the yard for good behavior?

  6. Cracker says:

Invite me over to a dinner party with your phoney friends and we can chat about it.
Make sure you get some over priced wine for us, and make sure we can see the bottle, we will be so impressed.

  7. TBizzle says:

Crackhead, keep going, I’m enjoying your generalizations. Everyday your comments are the same and quite frankly they are getting old and tiresome. Taking shots at people you don’t know anything about except a screen name must truly delight you.
Try to come up with some original material so we can laugh again.

I actually love this store. Whenever one of my friends ‘with kids’ has a birthday I always get their gifts here. I find that the toys are of higher quality and some are actually educational which I like. I feel like I always give a unique gift whenever I shop here. Plus the gift wrapping is nice too!!

Great toy store! I bought a kids corkboard yesterday, which was personalized by a commercial artist they have on staff (for free). They put everything I asked for on the board…..
(rockets, my daughter’s name, stars, planets etc). In addition, they gift wrapped it for free and then personalized the gift wrapping (also for free). They said they would assemble any toy in the store (free) and deliver it (locally) also, for free.
Good luck finding a “big box” store that does any of that.

The fact that you can’t figure it out just means you probably don’t know a damn thing about business. They are a niche market. You won’t find there what you find at Toys R Us. Where do the smart whiteys shop, Craker. Inquiring minds want to know. Any what about non-whites. They got special places to shop to? Some place the whiteys should know about?

Self explanatory, emphasis on educational / cool factor. Just stop by.
