The Wishing Tree Closing

7/29/2010 Update:

The Wishing Tree closing sale NOW

Not sure if it’s rising “Avenue” rents, slow sales in a dwindling economy, the internet, or a combination of them all – but Hoboken gift shop The Wishing Tree – is closing their 706 Washington St. location effective August 1, 2010.

Everything must go during their big closing sale – with discounts of 30-75% off (at the present time).

According to their website – they will “continue offering floral designs for weddings and other occasions” at 601 Jefferson St. – which is currently Hoboken West End Florist. Not sure if it’s a cooperative agreement, or the same owners. I tried getting in the store yesterday to speak with the owners, but the place was packed to the brim with strollers, and I had the 411 mascot with me… anyone know?

I’m sure they’re too busy binding their daughters’ feet, smoking opium, and stroking their Fu Manchu beards to be “licking their chopsticks” over this location.

Crass and ignorant. Good job.

I can already see the Chinese and Koreans licking their chopsticks over this location.
