I spent many a 2:am at the Malibu in my 45 yrs in the miracle mile. The past 16 yrs of my retirement have been in Florida. and down here, they just don’t have the NY/Jersey bread, pizza,Mozzerella and coldcuts. That can’t be duplicated.
But, a real diner, like the Malibu is sorely needed down here. I haven’t seen one. Every Northerner here misses that ambiance, quality of food and just the whole layout. Only problem is that, like in Seinfield, a Malibu diner would not flourish at 2A.M It’s 4:PM to 6PM-earlybird specials 😕

Yeah, a few pools. Remeber jenette’s too. Think the back was called the “blue room” or something like that. We would catch the older teens making out in the boots. We would go there after the Brandt school dances like big shots.

We would buy”raincoats” and peashooters from old cocked eyed. The best was when you ate at the castle point diner you would go to the bathroom and walked out through the chatterbox, they shared the bathroom. They were great times, crazy but great
escaped 68 i choise to live here…but your call ..do you remember cock eyed hennie we use to buy the dirty comics and firecrackers on monroe st and 6th..then the two cents cigerettes in the basement of second n jeff..scratch house on 1st and washington st..

LOL. I remember cock-eyed hennie. Used to get us candy there and then cross the street to that fabricated green thing they called a swimming pool with the shower heads. I must have been about 10 yrs old. How about joe blows on 5th and monroe next to the gas station (great juke box) LOL.
escaped 68 i choise to live here…but your call ..do you remember cock eyed hennie we use to buy the dirty comics and firecrackers on monroe st and 6th..then the two cents cigerettes in the basement of second n jeff..scratch house on 1st and washington st..

To each his own. I prefer malibu. Stacks seems that they just copied malibu’s menu. I’ve been a malibu regular for a long time and never gotten sick or anything close to that
speed racer 8 pray u dont get the chits…best bet is stacks..malabu got a conditional from the health dept a while back..enjoy
