Christmas in September!

Might as well make Christmas 365 days a year
Back when I was a kid – I seem to recall that the Christmas countdown didn’t officially start until we saw Santa Claus at the end of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade (which by the way – the Macy’s Studio in Hoboken where they design the balloons and floats will now call Carlstadt, NJ home after decades in the Mile Square.)
At the very least – they used to wait until after Halloween to start the holiday promotions.
Home Depot stores in New Jersey are already setting up the Christmas decorations and trees – in September, when it’s still 90 degrees out!
Who buys a Christmas tree now?

Didn’t see myself, but I heard today that Christmas decorations are up already in the Macy’s at Newport… ridiculous!

Macy’s in the Newport Mall in Jersey City is already set up for Christmas. It came as a relief to walk into Target afterwards and see that they, at least, have not forgotten Halloween.

Once I went to Lowe’s the first week of December to buy Christmas lights and couldn’t find any so I asked a salesperson. They said I should have come back in September because they were done with Christmas and pointed me to the bargain Christmas aisle with its slim pickings.

LOL!
Even though I don’t see the sense in this: I’ve noticed that holiday lights do tend to sell out sooner than they should, which is why this year I’m gonna get my lights early

I’m all for the Holiday season, but it does seem to be starting earlier and earlier. The only gripe I have is that when they make room for all the Holiday trimmings (lights, tree balls, etc) you have to travel the store to find where they moved everything to.

LMAO. Lo and behold!!! I’m listening to I-Tunes Classic soul network (just surfing) and the Christmas music is already on the air with a tune by Stevie Wonder “someday at christmas”.
