Baby Hertz on Demand!

9/15/2010:

Should Hertz on Demand branch out to baby strollers?

Seeing that only six residents have “turned in” their parking permits since June (and we don’t know how many of those also used garages) – maybe the city should team up with Hertz to help with another nagging issue?

I don’t have a baby yet – but I can only imagine what a hassle those massive baby SUV’s strollers must be. Just lugging them around, storing them, making sure someone doesn’t steal it – sounds like a headache.

What do you think of Baby Hertz on Demand? High quality strollers set up at strategic locations throughout the city – where you can schlep your flesh and blood around for $0.25 an hour – without the hassle of dragging the massive contraption into your apartment or car. Couple that with a Hertz-certified baby-backpack that conveniently locks into one of the various stroller models – and you’re set to go!

Fresh car smell will be replaced by fresh…hmmm….baby powder smell. And of course when you really need one, it will be rented out like the Hertz cars every weekend.

Not so much.

Sounds like a great way to spread ear infections and pink eye, though.

And what makes you think the person that rented the car before you didn’t have Influenza? Or had sex in the car?

Yes. Sharing is dirty.

The fact I was trying to highlight was that little ones are more susceptible to viruses and bacteria as they do not have as much exposure as adults.

I tend to wipe down the steering column, seat belts, shifter and door handles of a rental car when I pick it up. I try to minimize the exposure. While I do not lick anything or snuggle up to anything in a rental car, whatever you do is your business. I am not going to judge you… Shifter-licker.
