In front of City Hall, 94 Washington Street

With your host Elvis the Elf (Polka Dot)
And guest, Dandy Lion Pride

I cannot remember if they had a bigger tree than the ones the have out there as of today. What did they have last year? Was there something on the roof deck there?

On a positive note, the tree lighting was very nice.

Thank you, emarche. Not to mention that the main reason the field needed to be repaired was because they put a skating rink on top of for the winter months 2 years in a row! Duh!

In terms of maintenance, astroturf is easier to maintain. In terms of ‘danger’ (which I’ll define as ‘risk of injury’), astroturf is -far- more dangerous. Aside from turf burn and associated infections, how about turf toe or a torn ACL? Ever fall on astroturf or taken a substantial hit on to astroturf? It’s like hitting a brick wall. Congrats, kids – enjoy!

(Actually…this may work out. If they’re too busy recuperating for torn ligaments, etc. they won’t be able to go wilding in the streets of Hoboken.)

“No skating rink this year. It will ruin the astroturf in the Little League field. For the life of me I can’t understand why they put all that money into a field that’s not regulation-size.”

Here’s a thought — FOR THE KIDS?? The field needed to be repaired as it was dangerous and astroturf is easier to maintain.
