Free Preview Screening: Clear Blue Tuesday
Groundbreaking rock musical film is produced by NJCU media arts alumnus Al Parinello ’73
New Jersey City University (NJCU) presents a special preview screening of the groundbreaking film-musical CLEAR BLUE TUESDAY, executive produced by media arts alumnus Al Parinello ’73 on Tuesday, September 7 at 6:00 PM in Margaret Williams Theatre of Hepburn Hall on the NJCU campus at 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. The special event, which is free and open to the public, will also feature a Q&A with Mr. Parinello and Director/Producer Elizabeth Lucas, as well as live performances from the movie musical.
“We are pleased to host this screening of Clear Blue Tuesday and welcome those involved in the production, especially Mr. Parinello, for this important community event,” said NJCU President Carlos Hernández.
The independent rock musical follows the fates of 11 New Yorkers through six Septembers following 9/11 as each one comes to grips with their lives in alternately resilient, defiant, surprising, unraveling and unifying ways. “There was indeed a story to be told about the aftermath of 9/11,” noted Mr. Parinello, who was born and raised Hoboken and has enjoyed a prolific career in television and radio. “One of the things Elizabeth and I agreed upon is that Clear Blue Tuesday was going to be a film about the what came after 9/11 and a reflection on how these events might have changed the lives of those involved.”
The Clear Blue Tuesday event is part of a multi-year series of programs commemorating NJCU’s 80th Anniversary. The celebration will culminate on October 28, with an 80th Anniversary Gala at The Westin, Jersey City Newport. For further information, visit njcu.edu.
Note: The movie is released on September 3rd in NYC.
