Hertz on Demand Connect Car towed away!

Hertz on Demand Connect Car parked the wrong way; towed

A Hoboken411 reader sent in these interesting photos of a Hertz on Demand (formerly Connect) “Corner” Car parked illegally in the wrong direction at 4th and Bloomfield Streets today.

Not only was this a half-brained maneuver – it could have endangered both pedestrians and oncoming traffic. The car was then towed to the pound.

Additionally – here is one major problem with “social car sharing” – if the idiot before you does something stupid like this – your “reservation” to drive the car next is all screwed up. I’d rather be in control of my own vehicle, rather than relying on the wits of others.

What a waste. Impound the car and turn it into scrap metal.

“Smart” car? I think not.

Not to take away from the subject at hand, but it’s laughable how all the cops and their families come on to this site every time layoffs are touted – and begin scaremongering.

Some cops do work hard, others are simply picking up their check. There’s nothing wrong with cutting the fat once in a while.

You say that now, but you just wait! Zimmer’s evil plot is to lay off the 18 most seasoned members of the HPD! You’re gonna be heading home one night after work and *BAM* next thing you know you’re getting raped and set on fire by a roving pack of satanic crackwhore Nazi beagles from JC right in front of City Hall. The local news will be there to tape it, and then you’re going to end up on youtube and everyone will laugh at you… After that while you’re lying there all crispy and raped, Mike Lenz is gonna EAT YOU and there won’t be anyone to save you because without those 18 guys, well the HPD is just gonna give up.

You’ve been warned.[quote comment=”195873″]Not to take away from the subject at hand, but it’s laughable how all the cops and their families come on to this site every time layoffs are touted – and begin scaremongering. The driver will have to pay the fee but there should be a charge back for “administrative services” ( that increase in city services for activities that would not have occurred but for the Connect program) for the towing.

I think the driver witnessed so many cyclist going the wrong way that they reasoned they could not be much larger and that the smart car could also go the wrong way. A domino effect from illegal cycling.

Myabe but as of September 24th we can all do whatever we want. There won’t be police on the streets to stop us. Your comment assumes that most of the lazy cops in Hoboken actually work for a living. They seem to spend most of their time doing nothing and collecting a check. [quote comment=”195844″]Myabe but as of September 24th we can all do whatever we want. There won’t be police on the streets to stop us.
