HoBOOken 5k put on by Hoboken Elysianettes Oct. 30

Come out and beat your demons at the inaugural HoBOOken Halloween 5k Run. The USATF-certified race course will follow along Hoboken’s beautiful waterfront and finish on Pier A. Little ghosts and goblins can participate in the Scary Scurry Kids’ Run.

The race is produced by the Elysianettes to benefit Project Play, whose mission includes replacing old and unsafe playground equipment in Hoboken’s Church Square Park.

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers as well as the top 3 male and female finishers within each age group. All participants in the Scary Scurry Kids’ Run will receive finishers’ ribbons.

Special awards will also be given out for the best costumes -so get creative!

When: Saturday, October 30, 2010 @ 10:00 AM

Where: 1st and Sinatra

How much? $10.30 Prior to July 30th, $20 through October 26th, $25 Day of Race, Scary Scurry Kids’ Run $5. Registration closing date is midnight 10/26/2010.

I plan on working off my trick-or-treat candy at the 5K this Saturday….woo-hoo!! More candy corn, please! Animal_lover, hope to see you there 🙂

I’m all for a race but one should learn a little bit more about Project Play before considering supporting this group.

Great to have a 5K race nearby. No crack-of-dawn commute to NYC for those early morning races in Central Park: you get up, you race, then head to breakfast. I’m so there.
