Danger: High Voltage!
Thanks! Now I definitely will stay away!
I walk by this sign around the corner from the uptown Starbucks all the time – and it just makes me chuckle. Behind this door is one of the electrical rooms for the building, which naturally contains high-current apparatus and shouldn’t be messed with by anyone other than skilled technicians. But does specifying the exact voltage serve a purpose?
If it only said “Danger: 2,000 volts!” would some people say “Gee, that’s it? Let’s go inside and meddle with the wiring!”?
I’d recommend to be on the safe side next time just change the sign to “Warning: 1,000,000,000 million volts inside. You will certainly die. Move along.”
