Google dogs church services and you will find it is a growing trend, desperate to fill the pews churches are welcoming the 4 legged companions of the faithful. And it is working.
I don’t get the church connection as a sponsor. GOD & DOG?
I guess I can see how this would work. Though, personally, watching my dogs live in the moment and enjoy simple pleasures outside of a church does a lot more for my soul.
Google dogs church services and you will find it is a growing trend, desperate to fill the pews churches are welcoming the 4 legged companions of the faithful. I’m not one for churches either being a Pagan, but I like to stay informed of what the trends are, because interfaith work if very important.
I guess I can see how this would work. I’m not a member of Hoboken Grace, but by looking over their website I get what they are trying to do here.

Hoboken Grace isn’t a church, in the traditional sense. They meet weekly in the hall at the corner of 3rd and Garden (301 Garden St.) in Hoboken at 11 AM Sunday mornings.

The purpose of such an event is to simply meet other dog owners and meet members of the Hoboken Grace (some dog owners, too). Hoboken grace wants to make new connections & friends from such an event. Then, perhaps, find a few people who grew up as disaffected Catholics or Christians and see if they have interest in renewing their faith with their church while in Hoboken.

Does anyone else find it ironic that they’re having this event at a park that’s not dog-friendly? I wonder if that one park worker is going to chase everyone and say that dogs are not allowed in Church Square Park, except for going to/from the dog run?
