Fun pet event this weekend at Liberty Humane in Jersey City!
Liberty Humane Society plans open house
The Liberty Humane Society animal shelter in Jersey City will host its first annual Pets-a-Palooza Open House Party in celebration of both the Fourth of July Independence Day and the special bond people have with their pets.
For two days, on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27, the shelter will be turned into an open house for people in the community to come with pets, families and friends.
There will be family friendly activities, low-cost micro-chipping and nail clippings for cats and dogs, a mobile pet spa for dog grooming, professional behavior trainers to dispense free training tips, free pet grooming certificates, free pet sitting and dog walk certificates, raffles, door prizes and many more activities.
Visitors will be encouraged to spend time with the cats and dogs that are available for adoption.
Tours of the shelter and the new Spay Neuter Surgical Clinic will be given.
As a special bonus, adoption fees will be waived for adult cats and dogs over one year of age during the weekend event. Kitten and puppy fees still apply. The Open House runs on June 26 from noon to 8 p.m. and on June 27th from noon to 5 p.m.
The shelter is located at 235 Jersey City Boulevard across the street from the Liberty Science Center on exit 14-B of the NJ Turnpike.
