John’s Prime Meats (Paramus Meats) finished in Hoboken
Residents have had the luxury of a great neighborhood butcher at 305 First Street for the past 50 years.
As of last weekend – John’s Prime Meats (Paramus Meats) is closed forever. Into retirement after owning the establishment for the last 40 years. Probably a well-deserved retirement as well.
We have one bonafide butcher left: Truglio’s. Otherwise you’re left with questionable meat from supermarkets like ShopRite, A&P and King’s.

They have good italian sausage. Meat is a little pricey. They now have fish but I never bought any there so don’t know about the quality.

great quality. the lamb is fantastic. they will cut it any way you want and trim the fat as requested. not too badly priced.
