What would you cut in Hoboken?

6/2/2010:

Cutting wasteful spending

Have you seeen the project that Republican Whip Eric Cantor started?

Each week at republicanwhip.house.gov – the American public gets to vote on one of five “cuts” for Congress to vote on:

“YouCut – a first-of-its-kind project – is designed to defeat the permissive culture of runaway spending in Congress. It allows you to vote, both online and on your cell phone, on spending cuts that you want to see the House enact. America is at a crossroads and the choices we make at this critical time will determine what kind of country we want to be. To get back on the right path, Congress must start to make some choices that simply can’t be delayed any longer. While we won’t be able to solve our deficit problems overnight or with one silver bullet, we can and we must begin to replace the culture of spending that now dominates Washington with a culture of savings. Just imagine if your government was as focused on saving money as it is on spending money.”

So far, he’s 0 for 2 – with the recent winning choice cutting federal employee pay raises voted down once again. Sad that elected officials are ignoring the cries from constituents. As always, “they know better than you!”

What would you cut in Hoboken?

A real look has to be done on the Public Safety Dept. Using the DCA report and the current Director’s report, the BA has to make recs. to the admin. and the governing body has to decide how many positions they want, to provide the level of protection they want and pass a ordinance adjusting the Toble of Organization.

There are too many employees making a min. of $ 60k that are not needed AT ALL.
1 example: A woman at Multi Center earning base pay of 65k with no skills whatsoever.
All she does is answer the phone and schedule van,car pick ups….FYI, she is the sister of a high ranking City Hall employee..
This example can be multiplied by at least 50……
IMAGINE, that alone amounts to 3 MILLION DOLLARS………..
GET RID OF THE DEAD BEAT EMPLOYEES THAT WOULDN’T EVEN QUALIFY TO WORK FOR KMART……………!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cut the Hoboken Housing Authority and sell that land. The tenants of this area increase the crime, litter all over (you can always tell when you approach as there are broken liquor bottles everywhere, and think of the profits from selling the land to private investment.
