I was thinking of joining their monthly wine club for $25 a month, gets you 1 red and 1 white every 3rd Friday of the month. However, I’m fine drinking my $7 bottles of wine. Wouldn;t mind branching out though, any a member? Are the wines any good that they pick or am I paying up to let them pick my wines? thx

I love the pictures of the shoplifters that they have by the cash register —

I like the uptown location. The beer selection is much better.

haha, so nobody has actually joined this thing? Did a little googling and found http://www.tastingworld.com as an altenrative. For $75 you get a 2 hour “class” and sample 8 wines. Not in Hobo though, have to journey to manhattan. Can’t find any alternative.

In response to Biff McFly who said:
I have attended a few of the Sparrow wine tastings which has helped me to learn a great deal from the vendors and try many different wines. When I was sober enough to keep my notes and not leave them on the PATH it was great for when I went into the store..

I would like to publicly thank the driver of the Sparrow delivery van.
I was standing at the crosswalk at 15th and Bloomfield, and he was the only one of a long stream of cars that actually stopped and let me and my kid cross.
A small gesture, but very much appreciated.
