Bike rules simplified

5/28/2010:

If you don’t understand this – then you shouldn’t bike

All sorts of public awareness campaigns, painted bike paths and literature will not make everyone understand common sense.

Perhaps this video will help more people understand the basics of riding a bicycle on city streets:

Lets just say stay on the street and not on the sidewalks. Please follow the rules as if you were driving a car and I won’t run you over!

How timely 411. I just wanted to let the biker that I almost killed this morning on 9th turning onto Bloomfield. F You its called a stop sign and just because you are not in a car does not mean that you don’t have to stop. I was at a full stop(there was a police car right behind me), Had my turn signal on and was angled to turn and you come whizzing up 9th St and pull around me!

Let me guess, the police car sat there with you. Which he/she should have went after the biker and ticketed him/her for running a stop sign, just as any other moving vehicle. Some bikers are so inconsiderate and think because they are on a bike they have special privileges. I was crossing at a light (my right a way) and a biker just ran the red like and swerved around me. You want bike lanes, well we want to walk safely. Bad enough we need to watch out for cars running a red light, now we need to watch out for bikers. What next mega strollers 🙄 [quote comment=”192984″]How timely 411. I just wanted to let the biker that I almost killed this morning on 9th turning onto Bloomfield.
